How to Find Your Northern Star

Finding your North Star sounds like a lofty idea… like something reserved for ancient sailors or wise old sages. But it can actually be much simpler than that. In fact, your North Star might just be the answer to one quiet question:

How do you want to spend your time in this life?

As a young adult, I know firsthand that we don’t always get to choose exactly how we spend our time. Work is essential, responsibilities are real, and building a foundation (including financial stability) matters. But that doesn’t mean we can’t steer the ship. Even if we can’t choose every destination, we can start choosing direction.

Sometimes, all it takes is setting your phone down for ten minutes and asking yourself:
Where do I see myself next month? In six months? In five years?

Don’t worry if the answers aren’t perfect. The clarity comes through motion.

Here’s my take:
Your North Star isn’t found all at once. It’s discovered by doing… by spending time, again and again, on the thing that brings you closest to your purpose. It’s about showing up for that dream without neglecting the responsibilities that fuel your growth. It’s about trimming the habits, distractions, and routines that no longer serve you, and making more room for what does.

Am I there yet? Not quite.
But I think I’m starting to see my North Star on the horizon.

I won’t tell you what it is… not today. That’s for another post.
But maybe, just maybe, this helped you glimpse yours.

If yes, or if no… only time will tell.
