Every action we take might matter after all. But I don’t think it’s healthy to live that way. If we obsess over each tiny decision, we risk burning out before we even get anywhere.
I’ve had that experience myself… worrying about every moment, especially when I mess up or feel like I could’ve done better. But I’ve learned that you just have to go with the flow and try your best. Life isn’t meant to be micromanaged; it’s meant to be lived.
Instead, it helps to have routines, ideals, and values that act as your guardrails. They’ll naturally steer you toward your destination in life without needing to overthink every choice. Sometimes it’s as simple as catching up with a friend instead of staying home, going to the gym even when you don’t feel like it, or showing up to that event you almost skipped. Each of those small, seemingly unimportant choices add up over time.
That said, there are moments that do call for your full attention. Like staying locked in on a project with a deadline, or being fully present for a meeting where you need to deliver. Those are the times to focus, to be intentional.
So maybe every moment does matter… but not because you have to control them all. It’s because, in time, those moments quietly build the life you were meant to live.
