“Whenever I can, I act with kindness.”
About
Cyrus rose not only with the sword, but with a vision, an empire forged through unity, not fear. He swept across kingdoms, yet left temples standing and cultures intact. In freeing the oppressed and honoring the conquered, he redefined what it meant to rule. The Cyrus Cylinder bore his truth: that justice strengthens a throne more than cruelty ever could. Revered by prophets and praised by historians, Cyrus led with wisdom rare in conquerors, as both liberator and lawgiver, remembered not just for what he built, but for how he chose to build it.

Both the Hebrew Bible and classical Greek sources praised him for freeing the Jewish people from Babylonian captivity and restoring their temple in Jerusalem.
